What is Zip Imploder™?ioIsland.com Zip Imploder is a full featured zip program for zipping and unzipping files to and from zip files. Zip Imploder is also capable of Imploding Zip files, something that no other zip program does. Imploding basically deletes all the files in a folder that are already inside the zip file, sort of "undoing" the unzip process, but doing so intelligently by comparing file size, date, and time so that modified files are not deleted. What is Zip Imploding?
Imploding a zip file basically "puts back" all the files from a zip file. It does so by checking the files in the zip archive with the files in the folder of the zip file.
How it Works
Zip Imploder looks at all the files in a given zip file, and then looks in the folder where that zip file is for those files - when it finds the file, it can delete it based on the options you choose, such as Date /Time and File Size comparison. (zip files with directories are also supported).
An Example
For example, if a zip file contains 20 bitmaps, and you extract those bitmaps, and then later want to delete only the files in that folder that are in the zip file. (in theory - because they are in the zip file, you don't need them in the folder also) Zip Imploder can delete all the files that are in the zip file from the folder, thus eliminating the files in the zip file that are duplicated to the folder. Have you ever accidentally extracted a zip file to your desktop, only to have it littered with dozens of files? Simply copy the zip file to the desktop (if it's not already there) and then Implode it, all those files are now gone!
Why?
Imploding is useful when you accidentally unzip a file to a folder that contains other files, or when you have several zip files extracted to the same folder. Determining which files came from which zip file or which may or may not be modified can be a daunting task. Imploding makes that task as easy as a click.
It's Safe
If you have modified a file since it was unzipped, it should have a modified date and time. If you choose to check the file date and time (recommended) it will not be deleted since it does not match what is in the zip file. This ensures modified files are not deleted.

I like the colored list, it makes it so much easier to locate files! - Stu.
