Q - What is ClearTweak?
A - ClearTweak allows you to change the contrast setting of the ClearType setting for Windows XP. ClearType is designed to enhance LCD displays. It may appear slightly blurry on standard desktop monitors. It does not hurt to try ClearTweak on a CRT monitor. Even though ClearType is designed for LCD's, some people see an improvement on CRT's.
Q - Will ClearTweak work with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, or Windows 2000?
A - No. The Microsoft ClearType technology is currently only offered in the Windows XP graphical sub system, it will not work on any other Windows version.
Q - Can I use ClearTweak with a CRT monitor instead of an LCD flat panel?
A - Yes. An LCD screen is a flat panel, whereas a CRT monitor is a tube type, like a TV set. It does not hurt to try ClearTweak on a CRT monitor. Even though ClearType is designed for LCD monitors, some people see an improvement on CRT monitors.
Q - Do I need to run ClearTweak all the time, or each time Windows starts?
A - No. There is no need to re-run or run the program at start-up. The Startup option is for people that my have the need to turn ClearType on or off frequently for certain reasons, like when working with graphics programs that insert text, or other programs that may not work properly with ClearType.
Q - I changed the sample text font, but my system font does not change, why?
A - The Sample Text font area of ClearTweak is just for previewing what the ClearType change looks like at various sizes. It does not change the font or font size of your system.
